Game settings
To change the sport, start a new game.
At the limit, the other team is in the bonus.
For playoffs: each team gets a try in turn, from the 5-yard line (1 point) or the 10-yard line (2 points), until one team leads after the same number of tries. Only the winning team's points from the last round are added to its score.
Playing time (rec leagues): when the clock reaches 0, the point in progress is played out, then the game ends; a tie stands.
To change it, start a new game.
Soft: after the point in progress, the game goes to the higher score plus 1. Hard: the game ends after the point in progress, with a universe point if tied.
Counted on the cap clock. After the point in progress, if no team has reached halftime, it comes at the higher score plus 1.
At halftime, the board waits for "Resume play". A hard cap reached during the break ends the game, unless tied (universe point).
Then each ratio lasts two points (ABBA). "Flip the ratio" changes the next point only.
The team in end zone A picks the ratio on each point of the first half, the team in end zone B in the second half. Teams switch ends after every point.
Then the team that scores pulls; the second half starts with a pull by the team that received first. In mixed, the puller matches the majority on the line.
At 0, the game ends after the end in play; if tied, an extra end is played.
Each batter starts at this count; slo-pitch often uses 1-1.
The game ends when a team leads by this many runs once that inning is played, or as soon as the home team reaches it at bat.
Side-out: only the serving side scores. Rally scoring: every rally scores a point.
2 in a game to 11 or 15, 3 in a game to 21.
1: a game without sets.
Tied one point below the cap, the next point wins the game.
By sport: ball hockey, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, indoor soccer, ultimate, flag football, curling, softball, darts, badminton, table tennis
What the scoreboard tracks for table tennis
In table tennis, a game is played to 11 points, win by 2, and the match is best of 5 games. Tap +1 under the player who wins each rally; −1 and "Undo" fix a mistake.
The scoreboard knows who serves: the serve changes every 2 points, then every point from 10-all. The player who served first in a game receives first in the next. "Serve" shows under their name, and "Switch serve" fixes the match's first serve.
In the deciding game, the fifth in a best of 5, "Switch ends" shows when a player reaches 5 points. Each game won is added to "Games won", and the final score card gives the score of each one.
A shorter or longer match? Pick one game, best of 3, 5 or 7 in "Game settings". In doubles, the board shows the serving side, not the order of the servers: type both players of each pair in its name.
The table tennis match on a TV, the score in your hand
On the big screen (a TV, a laptop or a tablet), open the scoreboard and select "TV + phone remote".
On your phone, scan the QR code on the screen, or go to notreligue.ca/code and type the 5-character code.
Your phone becomes the remote: every action shows on the big screen within about a second.
The screen and your phone must be connected to the internet, through the club's Wi-Fi or a hotspot. You install no app and open no account.
After each rally, you score the point with one tap; the TV shows the score and the player serving, which both players can see from the table. A network cut? The score catches up when the connection returns.
Frequently asked questions
How does the scoreboard know who serves?
It counts the points: 2 serves each, then one at a time from 10-all. At the start of a game, the player who received first in the one before serves. If the match's first serve went wrong, "Switch serve" fixes it.
Can I play best of 7?
Yes. In "Format", pick "Best of 7" before the match; the scoreboard then calls the switch of ends at 5 points in the seventh game.
Can the score show on a TV next to the table?
Yes. On a TV or a laptop, select "TV + phone remote": the points, the games won and the serving player fill the screen, and you score from your phone.
Can I score the points without leaving the table?
Yes. Your phone becomes the remote: one tap on +1 under the player who wins the rally, and the screen follows within about a second, serve included. Both devices have to be online.
