How a night works
Up and down: the first round places players at random, or by level with "Balance the levels" (the strongest at table 1). After that, at each table, the winner moves up a table and the loser moves down; at table 1 the winner stays, and at the last table the loser stays. The next round is drawn once every table has its score.
A match is best of 3 or best of 5, games to 11. Players enter the games each side won (2 to 1, 3 to 0); the standings go by win percentage, then the games differential.
Arrivals and departures: someone who arrives starts at the last table; someone who leaves is no longer placed. With more players than spots, everyone sits out in turn. The night also plays in doubles, as a rotation or as a queue.
On the TV: who plays at which table, the round, the timer and the standings. The table slips print for each round when you need them. Your club plays every week? Keep the night in a league.
Frequently asked questions
How do you move up a table?
By winning your match: the winner at each table moves up a table for the next round, the loser moves down one. At table 1 the winner stays; at the last table the loser stays.
How is the score entered?
The games each player won, for example 2 to 1 in a best of 3. A player scans the QR code, taps their table and enters the games; the organizer's phone corrects it when needed.
Do players need an account?
No. They scan the QR code or enter the code at notreligue.ca/code. Only your phone runs the night.
How long does the night stay online?
The results stay at the same link for 14 days after the last action, then they are erased. To keep them, tap "Keep this night in a league".
