What the scoreboard tracks for pickleball
A pickleball game starts out to 11 points, win by 2. Both scores are in very big digits, easy to read from the side of the court on a phone or a tablet propped on the bench. Each point scored is +1; a mistake comes off with −1 or "Undo".
At 10-10, the game goes on until one team leads by 2. As soon as a team reaches 11 with a 2 point lead, the game ends by itself: the final score card shows, with "Copy result" and "Share".
There is no clock. The scoreboard counts each team's points without tracking the serve or the server number (the "0-0-2" of doubles): call the score out loud as usual.
For a game to 15 or 21, change the "Target score" in "Game settings"; if your group plays without the 2 point margin, untick "Win by 2". Between games, "New game" puts everything back to 0-0 and keeps the team names and colours.
Frequently asked questions
Does the scoreboard track the serve?
No. It counts each team's points, in big digits. You call the serve and the server number yourself, as usual.
Can I play to 15 or 21?
Yes. Change the "Target score" in "Game settings" (1 to 99). Win by 2 stays unless you untick it.
Does it work for singles and doubles?
Yes. The scoreboard counts the points on each side of the net, in singles or doubles: tap a team name on the board to replace it with the players' names (24 characters at most). The server number in doubles is yours to call.
