What the scoreboard tracks for basketball
Under each score, four buttons: +1 for a free throw, +2 for a basket, +3 from behind the arc and −1 to fix a mistake. "Game format" gives 4 quarters of 10 minutes or 2 halves of 20 minutes, with a countdown clock and a horn at the end of each period.
Team fouls are counted per period: they go back to 0 each quarter (or each half) and carry into overtime. When a team reaches the limit, 5 per quarter or 7 per half, "Bonus" shows above the other team's score, the team that shoots the free throws.
"Timeouts left" shows what each team has left: 2 per half. Taking a timeout does not stop the clock; tap "Pause".
If you need it, tick "Shot clock" (24 seconds, short reset to 14): it runs only with the game clock, beeps briefly at 0 and goes back to 24 or 14 with one tap, never by itself after a basket. The "Possession arrow" can be added too.
The length, the foul limit, the timeouts per half and the 5 minute overtime are set in "Game settings". Still tied after overtime? "If tied" decides again: a second overtime, a tie, or the two buttons to choose on the spot.
Frequently asked questions
Does the bonus reset every quarter?
Yes. Team fouls go back to 0 every quarter (every half if you play halves), so the bonus does too. In overtime, the last period's fouls keep counting.
Can I play halves instead of quarters?
Yes. In "Game settings", pick "2 halves" in "Game format": 20 minutes each and a limit of 7 fouls per half, unless you had already changed them.
Is the shot clock required?
No. It is hidden to start: tick "Shot clock" in the settings. You can change its 24 and 14 seconds (5 to 60). It does not restart by itself after a basket: tap "24" or "14".
How many timeouts does each team get?
2 per half to start (0 to 9 in the settings). With quarters, the first half is quarters 1 and 2; overtime counts with the second half.
