What the scoreboard tracks for volleyball

To start, the match is a best of 3: sets to 25 points, the deciding set to 15, always win by 2. No clock to run; every rally won is +1, and a point given to the wrong team comes off with −1 or "Undo".

When a team wins a set, the scoreboard says so, adds it to "Sets won" and puts the score back to 0-0. At 24-24, the set goes on until one team leads by 2. The match ends by itself when a team has won enough sets, with the final score card and the score of each set.

The serve follows the rally: the team that wins the point serves, and "Serve" shows under its name. If the scoreboard gets it wrong, "Switch serve" fixes it.

Sets to 21 in your gym? In "Game settings", pick the format (one set, best of 3 or best of 5), then the points per set and in the deciding set; untick "Win by 2" if your group stops at the exact score. A timeout counter follows each team too.

      Frequently asked questions

Is the deciding set played to 15?

Yes, to start: in a best of 3, the third set is played to 15 points, still win by 2. You can change it in "Points in the deciding set".

Does the scoreboard track who serves?

Yes. The team that wins the rally serves: "Serve" shows under its name. "Switch serve" fixes it if needed, for example at the start of a set.

Can I play one set or a best of 5?

Yes. Pick "One set", "Best of 3" or "Best of 5" in "Format", then the points per set (5 to 50).

Can I fix a point given to the wrong team?

Yes. "Undo" takes back the last action, even a point that ended a set; −1 takes a point off a team.
