Game settings
To change the sport, start a new game.
At the limit, the other team is in the bonus.
A timeout always stops the clock. Whistles: a team or personal foul, and a basket in the last 2 minutes of the last quarter (or half) and of overtime. For anything else, tap "Pause".
For playoffs: each team gets a try in turn, from the 5-yard line (1 point) or the 10-yard line (2 points), until one team leads after the same number of tries. Only the winning team's points from the last round are added to its score.
Then the team that goes first switches every round.
In these rounds, only the try from the 10-yard line (2 points) is offered. NFL FLAG's rule: from round 3.
Playing time (rec leagues): when the clock reaches 0, the point in progress is played out, then the game ends; a tie stands.
To change it, start a new game.
Soft: after the point in progress, the game goes to the higher score plus 1. Hard: the game ends after the point in progress, with a universe point if tied.
Counted on the cap clock. After the point in progress, if no team has reached halftime, it comes at the higher score plus 1.
At halftime, the board waits for "Resume play". A hard cap reached during the break ends the game, unless tied (universe point).
Then each ratio lasts two points (ABBA). "Flip the ratio" changes the next point only.
The team in end zone A picks the ratio on each point of the first half, the team in end zone B in the second half. Teams switch ends after every point.
Then the team that scores pulls; the second half starts with a pull by the team that received first. In mixed, the puller matches the majority on the line.
At 0, the game ends after the end in play; if tied, an extra end is played.
Each batter starts at this count; slo-pitch often uses 1-1.
The game ends when a team leads by this many runs once that inning is played, or as soon as the home team reaches it at bat.
Side-out: only the serving side scores. Rally scoring: every rally scores a point.
2 in a game to 11 or 15, 3 in a game to 21.
1: a game without sets.
Tied one point below the cap, the next point wins the game.
By sport: ball hockey, ice hockey, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, indoor soccer, ultimate, flag football, curling, softball, darts, badminton, table tennis
What the scoreboard tracks for ice hockey
At the rink, a new game opens with three 20-minute periods, a main countdown clock and an end-of-period horn. Every goal signaled by the referee goes up with +1 under the scoring club, while −1 or "Undo" takes back an accidental tap.
The shots on goal counter is turned on right away so the scorekeeper can log every save made by each goaltender. Inside the penalty box area, 2-minute minors and 5-minute majors tick down alongside active ice time, pause on every whistle and carry remaining seconds into the next frame.
When a power-play goal releases a skater early, tap the × beside that minor to clear it off the board. Beer leagues and pond hockey nights running 12, 15 or 25-minute frames can change period duration inside "Game settings", along with 5-minute overtime or a regulation tie.
If the flood runs long and ice time is shortened, pause the timer and tap the digits to enter the exact minutes left, or trim a full minute with −1 min without altering active penalties. Reloading the browser tab never wipes out your ongoing matchup.
Put the rink scoreboard on a TV and run it from the box
On the big screen (a TV, a laptop or a tablet), open the scoreboard and select "TV + phone remote".
On your phone, scan the QR code on the screen, or go to notreligue.ca/code and type the 5-character code.
Your phone becomes the remote: every action shows on the big screen within about a second.
Hook a laptop or smart TV up in the timekeeper booth or warming room, and connect both that screen and your smartphone to arena Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot. Everything runs in the browser with no sign-up and nothing to install.
Sitting at the penalty box door or on the players bench, you start the period clock, log shots on goal and post 2-minute minors while the big display shows them to both benches. A brief connection drop never freezes the running clock.
Frequently asked questions
How do I clear a minor penalty early after a power-play goal?
Tap the × button right next to that penalty timer under the shorthanded team. Any other active penalties on the board keep their exact remaining time.
Are shots on goal shown by default on the ice hockey board?
Yes, the ice hockey preset turns on the "Shots" counter under both teams from the opening faceoff. You can hide it anytime by unchecking "Count shots" in "Game settings".
Can we display the ice hockey board on a TV at the rink?
Yes. Choose "TV + phone remote" on the screen device to enter full-screen display mode, then scan the QR code with your phone to operate the clock, shots and penalties remotely.
Can another scorekeeper take over the remote between periods?
Yes. When a second phone opens the room code, it confirms the handover and immediately becomes the active remote until the session expires after 6 hours of inactivity.
